SWAT/SRT Course Overview

The SWAT/SRT training course is different than your standard shooting drill, and really puts your marksmanship skills to the test. Let's take a look.

Course Overview

  • Total Rounds: 50
  • Rifle Magazines: 3 mags, 10 rounds each
  • Pistol Magazines: 2 mags, 10 rounds each
  • Targets: OTG SWAT/SRT Qualification Package

Scoring Standard:

  • Pass with 90/100 or 225/250 (based on target version and rules used)
  • Version A: No dot targets
  • Version B: Dot targets integrated

Drill Objectives

Complete all stages within the allotted time while maintaining precision and control under stress. This course measures marksmanship, weapon handling, transitions, reloads, and movement under pressure.

Different SWAT/SRT Qualification Drills

There are two versions of the SWAT/SRT qualification drill, Version A and B. Let's break down version A.

Version A – Core Rifle and Pistol Qualification Drill

Note: Version A does not include dot shots.

Stage Breakdown

  1. 50 yds – 2 rifle rounds standing, 2 kneeling (10 sec)
  2. 50 to 25 yds – Sprint, then 2 standing + 2 kneeling (12 sec)
  3. 25 yds (Barricade Drill) – 2 standing (right), reload, 2 standing (left) (12 sec)
  4. 25 to 15 yds – Sprint + 2 standing (6 sec)
  5. 15 yds (Turn Right) – 2 torso shots after 90° turn (3 sec)
  6. 15 yds (Turn Left) – 2 torso shots after 90° turn (3 sec)
  7. 15 to 7 yds – Sprint, 2 rifle shots + pistol transition: 2 shots (8 sec)
  8. 7 yds – 4 rifle shots torso (2 sec)
  9. 7 to 4 yds – Walk forward, fire 2 rounds (3 sec)
  10. 4 to 7 yds – Walk backward, fire 2 rounds (2 sec)
  11. 7 yds – Rifle: 2 torso shots, transition to pistol: 2 torso (5 sec)
  12. 7 yds – Rifle dry, pistol strong hand only: 2 torso (4 sec)
  13. 7 yds – Pistol support hand only: 2 torso from low ready (3 sec)
  14. 7 yds – Rifle dry, transition to pistol: 2 torso, reload, 2 torso (8 sec)
  15. 7 to 4 yds – Walk, rifle dry, pistol: 2 torso (4 sec)
  16. 4 yds – Rifle dry, pistol: 4 torso (5 sec)
  17. 4 yds – Rifle dry, pistol: 2 head shots (3 sec)

Version B – Advanced Drill with Precision Dot Shots

Note: This version incorporates left and right dot target hits for enhanced accuracy assessment.

Additional Precision-Focused Stages

  1. 7 yds – 1 round left dot, 1 round right dot (3 sec)
  2. 7 yds – 1 round right dot, 1 round left dot (3 sec)
  3. 4 yds – Rifle dry, pistol: 1 left dot + 1 right dot (4 sec)
  4. 4 yds – Rifle dry, pistol: 1 right dot + 1 left dot (4 sec)

Includes all other stages from Version A with same structure and timing.

Bonus Challenges (Optional Mods)

Take your training to the next level with these performance-enhancing variations:

  • Race Mod: Multiply all time limits by 75% or 50%
  • Armored Threat Mod: Replace all torso shots with headshots
  • Try Hard Mod: Run the entire course continuously under 100 seconds
  • Try Harder Mod: Continuous course with all headshots, completed in under 75 seconds
